Holy Shit and Indiana

Happy Wednesday!
Holy Shit
The Chicago Bulls (A professional basketball team for those of you that don’t know) had only a 1.7% chance of getting the number one pick in last night’s NBA draft lottery. Last year they were bad enough to not make the playoffs, but too good to actually have a chance at landing at top draft pick. Or so America thought. Suddenly the Bulls have a chance to pick up a potential star and catapult right back into the league’s elite teams. I’m thrilled, but it isn’t really fair. They’re being rewarded for not living up to expectations. Had they actually played to their talent level, they never would have been in the lottery. So there’s the lesson, kids. Don’t try hard. Underachieve. Get your coach fired. Don’t trade for Pau Gasoll. You’ll be rewarded in the end.
Not that I’m complaining…
Indiana Jones and the Recapturing Of My Youth
Oh God, can’t wait. So Excited. Might vomit. Don’t care if the reviews are mediocre. Hearing that music as the credits roll will make the last 19 years less of a waste of my time. I got a migraine within the first five minutes of Last Crusade, stuck in there until the end just like Indy would have done and immediately afterward puked neon green vomit all over the movie theater bathroom. Ah memories. Come to think of it, I hope seeing Indy on the big screen doesn’t trigger the same response, kind of like what happens when I see or smell vodka.

I too am SUPER EXTREMELY EXCITED about the opening of the new Indiana Jones movie (having long ago memorized movies 1 and 2, it’s time to add something new to the repetoire). But I am torn. Out of respect for my father and tradition I feel that I should first see the movie with him. But he’s out of town until Tuesday morning. What should I do?!?

Wait for your Father. Indy would.

I’ll wait for the new Indiana Jones to come out on DVD to see it… What can I say, I just don’t share the same enthusiasm as you do. Sorry about that.
However, I am chomping at the bit to see the Sex and the City movie! But I don’t know a single soul that would go and see it with me, dammit. This is of course because all of my friends are dudes, and let’s face it, dudes don’t want to see Sex and the City. But in a way it’s rather fitting for me to have to go and see it alone, ya know, since I am a single woman in my mid-thirties and all, which is exactly the target audience. Good gravy! I am shaking my head at myself right now.

Thami,
Some of my friends are renting the VIP suite at the Southdale AMC to see the movie on 5/31. If you’re open to spending a couple of hours with some fun chicks and great food and watching the movie in swanky leather recliners, I could hook you up with the organizer. Cost is $20. I’m going to be in a wedding that night so I can’t partake ![]()
We saw the midnight showing last night.
It was pretty good. It was a lot hokier than the old ones (even moreso than Temple of Doom), and not very cohesive. And I can always do without CGI creatures and animals in my Indiana Jones movies. But it was definitely not bad.

Ooh, hey Rachel, I might have to take you up on that! ![]()
