Whew…

Happy Monday!

1.  Well, I survived my hell week. The BNW mainstage show is in good shape and we will no doubt have a great opening later this week. For fans of music, this show is right up your alley. Seriously, I’m not sure I’ve ever been part of a show that has so many great songs.

Also, big thanks to all of you who came to my Fringe Preview.  Overall, I am very happy with how it went. The stories are in better shape than I thought they’d be in.  Obviously, I need to do some re-writing and honing, but I’m in a much better place than I thought I’d be in at this point. Also, thanks to all of you who offered me your feedback.  If nothing else, it reaffirmed some things that I was already thinking.

Also, thanks to Jen Scott. She came in cold, played background for stories she’d never heard and basically rocked it out. Amazing.

2. The Dark Night is awesome. FOTIS.

If you loved the Dark Night, you should see the Dark Knight. Even better.

Oops. Wow. I can’t believe I did that.
Yes, The Dark Knight.

My worthless opinion:
Since we’re not really real friends, but mostly, like, facebook friends and real acquaintances with real friends in common, it seemed weird to leave a critique on your facebook page. Actually, it’d probably be even weirder if we were good friends and I left show critique on your facebook page. Maybe just a someecard? I’m sure I can find something appropriate. Now you will wait with breathless anticipation while I try to fulfill that threat. Where was I? Oh, right … show comments:

Really fucking funny.
Yeah, that’s pretty much all I have. You stole my one piece of constructive criticism, which was that the first piece didn’t have an ending. So I have proven myself a worthless critic once again.
This is totally subjective; I have no idea how other people would feel about it, nor if you’re planning to have music in your show. While Jen was amazing and fit the music beautifully to the tone and changes in the pieces, it made me really, really tense. You have a tight, contained, manic energy that works great with your stories, but the combination of that and non-melodic jazz (which often makes me tense anyway; I am so unhip) made it really difficult for me to concentrate on what you were saying by the end. I am of the little brain. I cannot take too much mental stimulation.
And you still owe me brownies.

I missed it. Can you do it again? Wednesday works well for me.

Zoe-Your brownie time shall come. Thank you for your feedback, and also are you a ninja? Because I didn’t even see you at the show. You are very elusive.

Peggy-No Wednesday Fringe shows….But i do have a Tuesday at 10pm that will surely need to be filled.
