Creature Feature Starts Tonight! (and other stuff)

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 | Oleo, Plugs, Sports

Happy Thursday!

1. Holy crap! The creepiest improv show in the Twin Cities starts tonight! 10pm! BNW! But wait, did you know this show is a double bill, also featuring the talents of Survivors Of The Undead Plague? And wait, did you know that I’m playing with the Survivors throughout the run of Creature Feature? Holy smokes! Hope to see you there.

2. In order to mentally prepare for tonight’s show, I’ll be watching the Cubs in game 2 of the NLDS. If you watched last night (Anyone?) you fully understand how watching a Cubs game is great prep for horror comedy. Come on Zambrano! We need you, you crazy crazy motherfucker.

3. I’m watching the final season of The Wire and I am an emotional wreck. So much death. So little-but poignant when it happens-redemption. So much newsroom/street/cop drama. I’m just going to say it, The Wire is my favorite show ever.  What’s your favorite show? Let’s argue!

that was so awful. I enjoyed your tweets, though. I noticed that we both ran out of things to say around the 8th inning.

Have fun at CF & SotUP tonight.

Mike, since the devastating loss to the White (bastard) Sox, I have found very little in which to live for. Thus, I have decided that I will join your “Cubs Cult”. I need something to hope for! GO CUBS! Wait…. do Cubs people say something else in regards to a slogan? I don’t want to step on any paws or anything.

I just watched the final episode of The Wire last night. Fantastic.

Right now I’m kinda hooked on Dexter. Before that it was Weeds… But I will always have a soft spot for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Go ahead. Point and laugh.

Liz-Yeah, I ran out of steam there at the end although I watched the whole bitter thing. For some reason, last night on my drive home I got WGN. The guy on the radio was blasting the fans for losing hope after one game. It was inspiring. It was like a pep talk from a radio coach.

Thami-Start practicing these looks: #1 Look of utter shock when the worst possible thing that could happen…happens.

#2 The “I’m not giving up no matter what!” look.

#3 The “I know I’ve been sitting at this bar for 3 hours and I know I’ve only had two beers and a burger but I don’t have cable and I NEED to watch this game” look.

Levi-I love Bubbles.

Kat-Can’t laugh. I’m a big fan of Buffy. Well, big’s a stretch, but I thought it was a mighty fine show. As for Weeds, I loved the first 2 seasons, but I couldn’t get through season 3.

The Wire was really good. So was NewsRadio (before Phil Hartman died).
