Hell’s Kitchen vs. Top Chef
Happy Monday!
1. This informal poll actually began last night via a status update on Facebook and it has sparked my curiosity. Which of these reality cooking shows do you prefer: Top Chef or Hell’s Kitchen?
For me, it’s a no brainer. Top Chef is by far the superior show. All of the chefs on Top Chef have real life experience and an understanding about how a kitchen works, which from what I remember from Hell’s Kitchen is not true, and that creates a more realistic level of drama . There’s a level of competency amongst the competitors on Top Chef that makes it far more watchable. Plus, the lady host is way fucking smoking hot.
Gordon Ramsey just seems like he’s kind of a dick. He should really be more nurturing, given the constructs of the show. The very fact that he isn’t destroys the show’s credibility.
Anyhoo, your thoughts?
P.S.-My mother was right. If you yell at enough people, stuff gets overnighted to your house.
Mike

Happy Monday?
Congratulations! And Top Chef.
1. I agree with Leah.
2. Ask your mom about Gordon Ramsey. I’m sure she’ll tell you that if you yell at people, they’ll also cook better.
Leah-It feels like a Monday.
Lisa-Thanks!
Ben-She probably would say that…OUCH!
Mike, did you know Gordon Ramsay was a professional soccer player before he became a chef? I think he played for the Glasgow Rangers. Another reason to like/loathe him, depending on your proclivities.
I agree Top Chef is the better show. But Hell’s Kitchen is more entertaining in a train-wreck, rot-your-brain kind of way. Or maybe I’m justifying my choice to live sans cable.
Top Chef by a million points. Now granted I’ve never seen Hell’s Kitchen, but by the looks of the commercials he yells at people for being fat. Where on Top Chef, the fat chefs yell at eachother for throwing one another under the bus.
Top Chef is more interesting and the food is better.
Hell’s Kitchen isn’t horribly inaccurate when it comes to working in a kitchen, though.
Sorry I’m late on this, but I was out of town.
I agree with you, Top Chef is the best. I like to look at all the food without all the yelling.
I don’t know…
There’s a rediculousness (yes, spelling is not my strong suit) to Hell’s Kitchen that there just isn’t with Top Chef. It is the rediculousness that makes me wanna watch it….It makes for a more mind numbing experience for me
