Tonight’s The Night!
Happy Friday!
1. Two days. Well, two nights actually. Two nights to write the first draft of my Fringe show. I can’t do it at home. The puppy combined with every other distraction in my house knocks it out of the running. My only choice is a coffee shop. Yup. A coffee shop. Or maybe a bar with wi-fi. Anybody know of good writing coffee shops?
If I pull this off, and I speak of this in such an extreme manner only because my middle name should be procrastination, I will be ahead of the game. Go me!
2. It’s nearly the MLB All-Star game and I haven’t followed the Cubs at all. Rumor is that they’re just a little better than awful. KInd of like my love making skillz! Hey-o!
3. The puppy spazzed out on our walk last night. And I don’t mean, got a little nutty. I mean full on twisiting into the ground, playing tug of war with her tail, chasing moths and running into walls that weren’t there crazy. It was a sight to see. At one point I has to sit her down on the ground, hold her little face and calmly tell her to relax. She seemed grateful for the advice as if she had briefly walked into the halls of lunacy…

It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere, but the Wilde Roast is awesome for writing and using wi-fi. Seemingly kind of fancy inside, but it’s super casual. Though maybe not the quiet place you’re looking for.

I can’t really, really write unless there are no distractions at all, because I will use any excuse not to write. So I’m a big library fan, and of the libraries, I like Washburn the best.
David-Thanks for the tip!
James-I’m right there with you in regards to libraries. Just not going to work for my schedule…
I usually go to Plan B on Hennepin. Quite often it actually turns out to be Plan B. Sometimes noisy depending on who is picking the sound track for the night.
Ryan-Thank you. Also, in regards to the email you sent me. I am interested.
One place that rocks for writing is…wait for it…Guthrie Corp. Yes. It’s true. It’s open to the public during the day but nothing is ever going on. Just ride up that disgustingly long escalator and at the top, take a right. There’s a bunch of nice, comfy couches, an inspiring view of the river, and NO distractions.
Is writing a fringe show at Guthrie Corp. sacrilegious? Maybe. But you’ll get that damn thing done in about 3 hours.
Urban Bean on Bryant is a really nice/quiet place to write or do work…I dig it.
Bangalore is a nice quiet place to write… You should come here and write!
