Poll: Would You Go To A Restaurant That Specialized Only In Stew?
Yes or no? I have no plans on opening such a restaurant, but I am curious to see if people love stews and curries as much as I do.

Yeah, I’d go. If there were multiply types of stew of course.
John-There would be so many stews, your mind would be blown.
Only if they specialized in quality over quantity. Just concentrate on giving me perfectly cooked meat and vegetables and leave the 31 flavors to the ice cream shops.
Aric-I hear you on that.
Hell yes, do it!
If Indian curry dishes and Pho count as stew, I’d be there.
Only if you stick to stew – no soups…chowders would be okay
I vote for chowder. A take-out option would be great for those wintery nights. And you should probably be attached to a great bread shop.
I have to inform you that you inspired me to mix up a pot of curried mashed potatoes and chicken chili tonight for dinner.
It needed more curry, but was otherwise delicious.
This seems very European. When living in Dublin, there was a place just north of the Liffey that was called Soup Dragon that only had soup and bread. It was always packed. I think a stew/chunky soup joint would be well-received… if properly placed in the city.
is there such a thing as good vegetarian stew? if so, then I’m all for a stew store — especially if it’s next to a great bread shop. if not, then I’m still for a stew store ’cause stew is good.
I would go if you were going.
All-Thank you for your support. Maybe one day I will move to a small town, refurbish some tiny building on Main St and open up a Stew Shop. On my days off, I will write my novel/something else.
That doesn’t sound half bad does it?
Possible names: One Stop Stew Spot, Stewperbowl, P.S. I Love Stew, Brave Stew World, I and Love and Stew (by The Avett Brothers)…
Rachel-That Avett Brothers song you’re referencing is currently my favorite song. Well played.
Maybe it could be a winter-only restaurant? I can’t say I’m a big stew fan in the summer.
Bree-Excellent point. Stew in the winter. But what in the summer? Various salads?
Ice cream?
Can we get a firm definition of stew? Are there vegetarian or chicken stews? Is there a thickness test? If so, what is it?
Monkeybutt-You’re right. These definitions are needed. Hmmmm. There will be stews of all varieties. Also, it has to be thick enough that it could never be mistaken for a soup. NEVER.
I have glanced at many of your blog entries and I had been curious about if you were interesting in swapping website links? I am often wanting to trade links with personal blogs on the same subject matter! I look forward to hearing back from you shortly.
