1. I’ve been blogging for a while now, several years to be less than exact.  For the most part,  I’ve really liked writing it, but now, it’s time for me to move on to another cyber project.

Starting in the new year, this site will have a new name and instead of it just being a blog dedicated to me and all of my handsome pursuits, it will become a story based website.

There are so many wonderful comedians, writers and storytellers in this city and hopefully this site can be a place for us to post our work. For the most part, I want the stories to be recorded, but honestly I’m up for anything.  I just want to get all the great stories Minneapolis has to offer out into the cyberworld.

Ahoy! Where did you come from? Are you lost? Whatever your story may be, I am sure it is full of adventure and daring! And perhaps the most daring part of your story would be your outfit. Where do I begin modern day pirate? Let’s start with your single giant golden hooped earring. I could feel the the confusion permeate from you as you stared at my naked earlobe while we both waited for our paninis.  What kind of lily livered land lover was I to walk the streets un-bejeweled?  And surely you must have wondered why you were the only person wearing blindingly white acid washed jeans. And the buttons on my  shirt clearly made you furious.  Where was my loose fitting shirt with lacing?

Pirate, I surely hope you find your crew soon, for the land is no place for you.

2. Nice move, Twins. You’ve got the Yankees right where you want them.  The Twins are down 0-1, but they totally have the advantage. That’s right, Gardenhire has allowed the Yankees to become too confident. Brilliant.

3. A while back I couldn’t stop writing about Jon Gosselin and his despicable love for Ed Hardy clothing. Those posts, as might be expected led to lots of spamming. Here are three of the best I’ve recieved to date.

From Jayla -the kids of Jon and Kate Gosselin are so cute and adorable. wish i have those kids too. i hope that Jon would be more faithful to Kate.

From ACNETREATMENTGURL, who must really love her job to have legally changed her name-i enjoyed watching the show of Jon and Kate Gosselin on TV. their kids are so cute but i am wondering if Jon Gosselin is really a good husband.

From Janey, sister of Jayla and apparently just as barren--the kids of Kate and John Gosselin are so cute. i wish that i also have 8 kids.

1. I didn’t see any of last night’s game because I was working, but I did catch snippets of it on the radio . It sure sounded like the greatest game in Major League history. Last night’s win will work in one of two ways against the Yankees. It will either serve as a catalyst for the team and and cause them to tear through the Yankees like a chainsaw through butter, or last night’s win will serve as an awesome memory to fall back on when the powerhouse that is the Yankees brings the Twins back to earth.

My money? The Twins win in 5.  Punto will hit 9 homers in the series and during the celebration on the mound after the Twins have pulled off the impossible, Joe Mauer will piss all over the field in Yankee Stadium and scream, “NEVER! I WILL NEVER BE A YANKEE! SUCK IT, JETER!”

I’m in a weird place right now. For the first time in the nearly ten years that I’ve lived in the Twin Cities, I followed the Twins much more regularly than I did the Cubs. I don’t know what it is but after two straight playoff appearances and exactly zero wins to show for those appearances, I just didn’t have the mental energy for another Cubs heartbreak. I’m glad that the Twins have been there to remind me that I can root for a team without all the emotional wreckage.

1. The Twins find themselves somehow in a playoff on Tuesday thanks to an equal parts mixture of Twins moxie and TIger ineptitude. Man, it sure is nice to live in a city where the baseball team consistently year after year finds a way to win. Do you hear me, Cubs? I’ve been letting you half jerk me for years. The Twins are already my favorite AL team…Don’t make me make the full on switch!Alright! You called my bluff. I could never do that, but seriously this year was unacceptable.

2. Creature Feature went really well on Friday night. Michael Ritchie continues to be the best improviser in the TC. Being onstage with him makes me realize how sloppy I can be when on stage.

3. Last night’s Rockstar show also went very well. What a humbling experience to know that I presented a story that was pretty well received and that I liked very much but that still wasn’t up to par with what everyone else offered. It is truly nice to know that I work with such talented people.

1. Poor Chicago…No Olympics. I know a lot of people are upset by this, but I’ve never been a huge fan of being an Olympic city.  Aside from the two week event, aren’t the Olympics a giant money suck hole? And  when it’s over and the rhythm gymnasts have packed their scarves and gone, aren’t you mostly left with a lot of clean up and the nagging knowledge deep withing in you that for two weeks you whored your city out for fans of Rhythmic Gymnastics?  I don’t know, maybe I’m missing the big picture on this and it’s true that Chicago’s Opening ceremonies would have the potential to be inspiring. But it’s also true that they had the potential to be embarrassing. We all know that there was a good chance that the Opening Ceremonies would have featured 500 school children all of whom somehow would have morphed into the Blues Brothers. Whatever, the city by the lake is just as swell as can be. And I don’t need the Olympic committee to confirm this for me. So keep your chin up, Chicago. I still think you’re pretty.

3. On Sunday, I’m going to be in my second Rockstar show of the season. Not only is this my second show in a row, but it also marks the the first time in the history of the group that I will have participated in two shows in one season. Go me. My story is pretty funny. I’m quite please I’ve been able to focus on so much solo material in the past few months. That’s really exciting, right?! Oh. Well, it’s exciting to me…jerks…

1. Great news everyone! The leaves are changing color, a cool air has descended upon our mornings, and my ac unit ha sonce again begun staring at me, wondering if it will remain in my window for another winter. These three things can only mean…it’s once again time for Creature Feature!!!

That’s right kids and kiddos.  Your favorite all improvised monster movie is back along with Survivors Of The Undead Plague.  All your favorite “monstervisers” are back, and for the first time in two years I step away from the director’s chair and back onstage.  I’m not sure that’s actually a selling point, but hey it’s my blog.

1. I have begun using Rogaine. It’s better to be straightforward about it than hide it until it becomes an unbearable secret. Go ahead, shame me for my vanity. I’ll take those blows in exchange for a thick tuft of hair on the back of my head.

It’s me again. Hi. In the past we’ve bickered quite a bit, whether it was over a billing error, or the fact that you won’t offer me a discount to replace my broken phone. Sometimes it feels like we’re stuck in our own version of “Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf.” Am I right? You and I are like cats and dogs! But somehow we “work”. You and I click, T-Mobile. There’s no denying that there’s a magic there. And I don’t mean fake magic like the kind David Blaine does. I’m talking renegade Criss Angel magic. You know, the dangerous kind of magic.

The main reason I think that we “work” is that we never miss an opportunity to celebrate each of our wonderful qualities. Sure we bicker with the best of them, but we also know how to love each other unconditionally. And a few days ago, you really went out of your way to show your love and I want to say thanks.

For some reason, even a picture of a G-1 affects the battery life on my actual G-1.

So, thank you. Thank you for the gift of the weak ass battery that currently “powers” my G1. I love it. It’s so fun knowing that even with the GPS and Wi-Fi off, I have about half an hour of battery life to sit back and watch while Facebook fails to load. I get goosebumps knowing that if I’m ever lost while driving, I can turn on my GPS and be filled with confidence, knowing that for nearly two minutes, I will be able to navigate my way out of any sticky situation.

I look forward to speaking with you about this, T-Mobile. I am sure that like all of our other conversations, it willed be filled with cooing and sweet nothings.
