Posted in Fringe, Solo Comedy, Sports on October 13th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 5 Comments

1. So first things first, my Fringe show, “An Intimate Evening With Fotis Part III: Fotis Party Time Explosion” begins its remount this Thursday. Please spread the word about this show. If you are a blogger or a tweeter or a Facebooker and you help me spread the word, I promise that I will do the same for you, during your next production.

Performances:
Thursday October 15 9pm
Friday October 16 9pm
Sunday October 18 330pm

Produced by Nimbus Theatre and presented as a double bill with Allegra Lingo’s, “Crescendo”.

Tickets $12, $10 with Fringe button (or $20 / $18 when you see both shows together!).

More information can be found here:

2. So…I was wrong about the Twins. Oopsy. Although to be fair to how awesome I am, the series should still be happening. The Twins blew some chances.  Question: With the Twins moving into a new stadium, and in theory, garnering more revenue will their spending be indicative of this shift? Or, will they continue to play the small market/scrappy player card?

The First Weekend Is Over.

Posted in Uncategorized on August 3rd, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 6 Comments

Happy Monday!

I am not well...

I am not well

1. Well, the first weekend of Fringe is in the can, and all in all it’s been pretty successful.  Ferrari’s show, Comedy Go!, went exactly how we thought it would. People who like improv are into it, and obviously people who aren’t into it didn’t have their minds changed. But we had a ton of fun. A lot of weight was lifted. Mostly by me*. I will say that a 45 minute set is one of the harder things I’ve ever had to do performance wise. I went out for Thai food after yesterday’s show and essentially all I could do was mumble like a drunk guy at a bus stop.

I feel like Joe and I are putting ourselves through an improv boot camp and it’s been great fun to get back to basics and really find the games in our scenes and are really grateful to those of you who’ve been able to come to this show.

2. As for An Intimate Evening With Fotis Part III, I am very happy with the reception that this show’s been getting.  Crowds have been very good for this show, the material seems to be working, and Jen Scott is a stand up gal.  I really hope that you’re able to make it to this show. I’ll debrief more on this one as the week progresses.

-Mike

*Just kidding, Joe.

Thanks From Ferrari, I Blame My Dog, and Beware The Palin/Favre Ticket

Posted in Uncategorized on July 29th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 4 Comments

Happy Wednesday!

1. First off, thanks to everyone who came to Ferrari’s rehearsal/preview. It was incredibly helpful to have you there. Joe and I are very lazy men and had you not been there, I can’t be sure that we would have rehearsed. We probably would have just played video games.

2. The solo show is almost done. I can’t believe it’s coming down to the wire like this. I haven’t pulled an all nighter like this in a long time. What I’m about to do is going to make me seem like an asshole to most of you, but the main reason this show isn’t finished is because of a little tornado of mayhem named Maddie. She has the innate ability to take someone’s focus and energy and put it on to her 24 hours a day.

3. I have a theory. Sarah Palin abruptly resigns. Brett Favre shocks the world and doesn’t return to the NFL. Is it only obvious to me? Clearly, Brett is going to be her running mate in 2012.  He’s going to bring in the Wrangler jeans vote. Laugh now if you must. Call it the “quit ticket” if you dare, but such a ticket could be incredibly dangerous. People love Diva quarterbacks and MILFS. If the Dems aren’t scared now, they should be.

Jon Gosselin And His Pink Pants, Also My Fringe Show Opens On Thursday. Have I Mentioned This?

Posted in Uncategorized on July 28th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday!

1. Thursday is a big Fringe day for this overweight greek kid. My show, An Intimate Evening WIth Fotis Part III opens at 10pm.  Truly, I know I whine a lot, but this has been one stressful fuck of a week. But you can find the schedule for my show, here.

Earlier in the day, at 530. Joe and I (Ferrari McSpeedy) open our all improvised show. I know it sounds braggy, but we are really good. You should check this show out. Information can be found…here!

2. I am either a terrible golfer or a less than average golfer. Yesterday I was a terrible golfer.

3. I know I covered this yesterday, but I simply cannot believe that Jon Gosselin also wears Ed Hardy pants. Pants. In essence, he wears a uniform. An Ed Hardy uniform. His way of telling the world he’s a cadet in the choad/asshole/I wear sunglasses everywhere because they make me look awesome army. His kids will rebel against him and blame him for showing their childhoods to the world by dressing normal. Their clothes will have nothing written on them. They will be blank.

“My pants are pink! Wearing Ed Hardy clothing is like wearing cotton tattoos! Growl! I’m fierce!”

The Plague, Christmas Trees, and The Fringe Lottery

Posted in Fringe on February 16th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 5 Comments

Happy Monday.

1. Battling some type of cold/flu/plague.

2. I really need to consider taking down my Christmas tree.  A tree up through January is fine. It can be hard to let the holiday feeling go. Sometimes, you just want the warm glow of the tree lights to hang around for a while.  But keeping a tree up past the mid point of February? That’s just sad and there’s no excuse for it.

3. The Fringe Lottery is tonight! Fingers crossed. Remember conspiracy theorists, it’s a lottery. Fucking relax.

Mike
