Blogs You May Like

Happy Tuesday! I am currently in tech week for the BNW’s latest comedy explosion, How To Make Love Like A Minnesotan: Sleepless In Shakopee. If you’re not good at gathering information from titles and need a little help, the show is all about love, sex and relationships. It’s gonna be great, however the rigors of tech week have once again turned my brain to mush, so today’s blog is going to be links to other blogs you may fancy.  That’s right. I’m creating content by offering you links to other content.  LAZY! I’m not listing blogs already on my blogroll. I’m listing new stuff. Ok, here you go.

1. My roommate Bobby now has a blog. It is brilliant on many levels, but mainly for its profile picture of the author. If you’ve ever wondered what the life of a man who almost never wakes up before noon is like, then this blog is for you. Read it before he loses interest.

2. howwastheshow.com is maybe the most comprehensive site about the TC arts scene that I have ever come across.  Give it a read, it’s quite simply put a very professional and entertaining site. You know, a change of pace from the blach I offer. I am 99% sure it is run by David DeYoung, whose father interestingly enough was my theater professor way back in the day.

3. minneapolisimprov.com is a great message board focusing on the TC improv scene. It has tons of info about classes and shows and is just a fun place to hang out. If you’ve ever been curious about this scene, then this site is for you.  Plus if you do a little digging, you’ll find an archive of thousands of potential improv team names.  Be warned, every single team name I offered is a horrible idea and shouldn’t be used. Unless you want your team to be awesome.

More tomorrow!

Clutter Is Going To Do Me In.

Posted in home projects on January 28th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 7 Comments

Happy Wednesday!

1. I’m back in Minneapolis.  It is what it is.  I should state that I like winter. I like snow and I like cold. But these temps are bullshit and they’re crushing my easily crushed soul.

2. Right now I’m staring at my living room. I hate everything about it. It’s cluttered. And the walls are a tannish brown. That needs to change. It’s crushing my easily crushed soul. I’ve also discovered something about myself recently. If I’m going to maintain my sanity,  the surfaces of my home can have nothing on them. I need empty table tops. Also, I need a workspace that I can “close” when I’m not working.  Like a giant cabinet or something.  When I see the clutter that is currently covering my desk, I want to scream.

That is all for today.

Onto Sketchfest, Then New Orleans

Posted in Uncategorized, weather on January 15th, 2009 by Mike Fotis – 5 Comments

Happy Thursday!

1. Heading down to Chicago today for a weekend full of Sketchfest shenanigans. If you live in the area stop on by! To be honest, I’m a little bummed that I’ve done such a bad job of keeping in touch with old friends from Chicago.  Sketchfest seems like a great reason to get together with old buddies. Lesson learned. If I ever leave Minneapolis, I will do a much better job of keeping in touch with folks. On the plus side, I am going to get to see the LCW, so life ain’t too bad.

2. From Chicago, I head to New Orleans for some BNW corporate shenanigans. I haven’t been to New Orleans in several years. I am interested to check it out again. Last time I was there, I didn’t really do much that I wanted to do. Hopefully, I’ll have a little down time to check out anything other than Bourbon Street.

3. My car won’t start. Won’t even turn over. Hope there’s not a snow emergency while I’m gone. Nothing says “move” like paying a towing fine for a retarded and impossible to understand city regulation.
